Job summary

Noonan Real Estate Agency is seeking an experienced Accounts Team Lead to oversee day-to-day financial operations and support an Australian-focused finance team. You will manage Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensure accurate coding in Xero, and drive timely month-end close and financial reporting.

Role requires strong English communication, leadership experience, and knowledge of GST/ABN/BAS. This is a remote opportunity with work-from-home flexibility and Australian business-hours alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proven experience leading or supervising an Accounts or Finance team.
• Xero certification or extensive Xero experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices including GST, ABN, BAS.
• Extensive experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion.
• Review supplier invoices, verify approvals and supporting documentation, and ensure accurate transaction coding in Xero.
• Supervise supplier payment runs.
• Oversee daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records.
• Monitor outstanding receivables, payment collections, supplier statements, and account balances.
• Support month-end closing activities, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate GST treatment, ABN verification, BAS-related documentation, and compliance with Australian accounting requirements.
• Lead, supervise, and support the Accounts team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly financial targets.
• Delegate tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure team members meet deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy.
• Provide coaching, training, and ongoing guidance to improve team performance and strengthen accounting knowledge.
