Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to ensure availability, performance, security, and operational continuity for SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). You will manage production systems, backups, DR, and migrations while collaborating with global teams.

The role requires hands-on SQL Server experience, strong T-SQL skills, and advanced English.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, SQL Server administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexes, execution plans, and query optimization.
• Experience with backup, restore, recovery, and database integrity checks.
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience with Azure SQL and/or AWS RDS for SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Experience with SQL Server security, patching, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Advanced spoken and written English – Mandatory, as you will communicate regularly with US-based teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Managing Azure SQL, SQL Server on Azure VMs, and AWS RDS for SQL Server.
• Installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading SQL Server instances.
• Monitoring and optimizing queries, indexes, execution plans, CPU, memory, storage, and transaction logs.
• Managing backup, restore, recovery, and database integrity processes.
• Supporting High Availability, Disaster Recovery, clustering, replication, and SQL Server Always On.
• Troubleshooting performance, connectivity, blocking, locking, availability, and data integrity issues.
• Managing database security, users, roles, permissions, and encryption controls.
• Supporting SSIS and Azure Data Factory processes.
• Automating DBA activities using T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Supporting database migrations, upgrades, refreshes, and Cloud migration initiatives.
• Participating in Incident, Problem, Change, Security, and Disaster Recovery processes.
• Collaborating with international technical teams and stakeholders.

Your Challenge
