NTT DATA Europe & Latam is seeking an experienced Oracle Database & OCI Administrator to support critical Oracle environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms. The role emphasizes hands‑on Oracle Database and OCI work, with focus on performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and automation.

Responsabilidades

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and support Oracle Database environments on‑premises and in the cloud.

Location: Peru – Nationwide | Preference for Trujillo or Arequipa

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database & OCI Administrator to join our team and support business-critical Oracle environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

This role is ideal for a DBA with strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database and OCI, combined with expertise in performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and automation.

You will collaborate closely with Cloud, Infrastructure, Applications, Cybersecurity, and Data teams, as well as technical teams and stakeholders in the United States.

What you’ll do

You will help ensure the availability, performance, security, integrity, and operational continuity of our Oracle database platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administering, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting Oracle Database environments on-premises and in the cloud.
• Managing Oracle Database services deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Supporting AWS RDS for Oracle environments when required.
• Installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading Oracle Database and related components.
• Managing instances, users, roles, privileges, service accounts, security baselines, and policies.
• Performing daily database health, availability, capacity, and security checks.
• Monitoring and optimizing SQL, execution plans, indexes, memory, storage, tablespaces, and database parameters.
• Using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other monitoring tools for proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
• Implementing and validating backup, restore, and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN.
• Performing periodic restore tests and maintaining the required evidence for audits.
• Supporting High Availability, replication, clustering, and failover configurations.
• Supporting Multi-AZ and read replica configurations in AWS RDS when applicable.
• Participating in Disaster Recovery exercises and maintaining recovery documentation.
• Managing privileged DBA credentials through CyberArk or equivalent Privileged Access Management solutions.
• Ensuring appropriate encryption mechanisms are implemented for data at rest and in transit.
• Applying Oracle security patches and Critical Patch Updates (CPU).
• Participating in vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
• Monitoring CPU, memory, storage, tablespaces, and cloud resource utilization.
• Performing proactive capacity planning.
• Troubleshooting performance, availability, connectivity, storage, and data integrity issues.
• Supporting database refreshes, migrations, data extractions, and other data movement activities.
• Planning and executing on-premises-to-cloud migrations and database upgrades, minimizing downtime whenever possible.
• Participating in Oracle migrations to OCI and/or AWS RDS.
• Automating DBA activities using SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Python, and related technologies.
• Supporting Infrastructure as Code initiatives, primarily using Terraform when applicable.
• Using GitHub and/or Bitbucket for version control of scripts, configurations, and automation.
• Participating in CI/CD processes related to database changes.
• Maintaining database inventories, configurations, architecture documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Providing logs, reports, and evidence for audits and security controls.
• Participating in Incident, Problem, Change, Security, and Disaster Recovery Management processes.
• Evaluating new Oracle/OCI versions, capabilities, and technologies and supporting their implementation when approved.
• Participating in on-call support rotations outside regular business hours when required.

What we’re looking for

• 3–5+ years of professional database administration experience, with relevant hands-on Oracle Database expertise.
• Experience administering Oracle Database in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database services.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle architecture, administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery.
• Experience with performance tuning and database monitoring.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or equivalent monitoring tools.
• Experience managing users, roles, privileges, authentication, security baselines, and encryption.
• Experience performing patching, Critical Patch Updates, and upgrades.
• Practical knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• Experience or practical knowledge of CyberArk or similar Privileged Access Management solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts related to database services.
• Experience using Bash, Python, and/or equivalent scripting technologies to automate DBA activities.
• Experience with ticketing and Change Management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
• Advanced spoken and written English is mandatory, with the ability to communicate daily with US-based technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders, participate in incidents, and prepare technical documentation.

• OCI Database Systems and/or Autonomous Database
• OCI IAM, networking, storage, monitoring, and backup
• AWS RDS for Oracle, including Multi-AZ and read replicas where applicable
