Job summary

Role Description The Peru Senior Trader a full-time, on-site role based in Lima, Peru, responsible for overseeing Altamira's commercial and operational activities related to Peru. The role includes managing local and regional relationships with suppliers, customers, and service providers, as well as identifying new business opportunities and negotiating contracts within the non-ferrous and precious metals sector. The Senior Trader coordinates logistics and financing arrangements, ensures compliance with internal policies and local regulations, and monitors market developments affecting the Peruvian business. Day-to-day tasks involve supervising local reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis, collaborating closely with headquarters and other regional offices, and representing the company in meetings and industry forums.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in commodities trading, particularly in non-ferrous and precious metals, and a solid understanding of international trade and logistics.
• Proven skills in relationship management, negotiation, and business development within a cross-cultural and cross-border environment.
• Ability to manage operations, including contract execution, risk management, and compliance with local and international regulations.
• Excellent analytical, financial, and reporting skills, with the ability to assess market trends and business performance.
• Fluency in Spanish and strong working proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team coordination, decision‑making, and accountability for results.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Lima, Peru, and travel within Peru and the region as business needs require.
