A leading executive search firm is seeking a Corporate Controller to elevate the accounting function for a PE-backed consumer products brand. This remote position offers competitive compensation of up to $232K + bonus and equity. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience, strong public accounting background, and exceptional leadership skills. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and leading a dynamic team. Flexible work arrangement with a preference for candidates in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

$100M fast-growing consumer products company backed by private equity is hiring a Corporate Controller to lead and elevate its accounting function. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on, bringing structure and scalability to a dynamic environment.

We’re looking for a proven leader with a strong technical foundation who thrives in high-growth CPG settings and can build efficient processes without losing agility.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Drive the month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Develop, refine, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with external auditors and manage annual audit processes
• Collaborate closely with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Assess, implement, and optimize ERP and other financial systems (NetSuite preferred)
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing accounting team as the business scales
• Deliver clear, accurate, and timely financials to internal stakeholders and PE sponsors

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership in corporate accounting and controllership roles
• Strong public accounting background (Big 4 or large regional firm) required
• Active or inactive CPA license
• Prior CPG or related industry experience, ideally with omni-channel and inventory exposure
• Prior experience in PE-backed or fast-growth environments preferred
• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset

Additional Notes:

This is a remote role with flexibility, but candidates in Los Angeles or other key markets will be prioritized for periodic in-person leadership meetings. Competitive salary, bonus potential, and equity included.
