This role requires over 10 years of experience in progressive accounting, as well as expertise in U.S. GAAP and leadership in service-driven environments. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and a CPA or MBA is preferred.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client is a professional services organization based in Los Angeles, commutable to Century City.

The company is seeking an Interim Controller to own and run the accounting close and reporting processes for the executive leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL close, reconciliations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Manage internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to strengthen compliance and efficiency.
• Execute AR, AP, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Partner with leadership to drive improvements across controllership, financial reporting, and cash management.
• Deliver process enhancements across accounting functions to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
• Leverage QuickBooks to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in controllership roles.
• Strong experience in professional services industries such as legal, business management, B2B services, or talent agencies.
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Proven ability to lead teams and execute in fast-paced, service-driven environments.
• QuickBooks experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.
• Available to start immediately and commit to a full-time interim engagement (onsite in Los Angeles, commutable to Century City).
