Job summary

Tata Projects in Oman seeks a Welding Inspector for onshore fabrication yard responsibilities. The role requires 5–10 years of welding inspection experience and TPI exposure, with immediate availability preferred.

You will coordinate NDT activities, review QA/QC documents, ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO standards, and liaise with client representatives and project teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
• CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
• Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.

Responsibilities

• NDT coordination: witness and validate RT/UT/MT/PT activities and review reports.
• Documentation & reporting: review QA/QC docs, prepare daily/weekly inspection reports.
• Compliance & standards: ensure adherence to AWS D1.1 ASME IX ISO standards and client specs.
• Stakeholder coordination: interface with contractor QA/QC, client reps and project team.

Key Responsibilities

• NDT Coordination Witness and validate NDT activities such as RT UT MT and PT Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria compliance
• Documentation amp Reporting Review and endorse QA QC documentation including Welding procedures WPS PQR Inspection reports Material traceability records Prepare daily weekly inspection reports and submit to client TPI agency Identify and report non-conformances NCRs and follow up on corrective actions
• Compliance amp Standards Ensure adherence to AWS D1 1 ASME Section IX ISO standards Client specifications and project requirements Verify material identification and traceability
• Stakeholder Coordination Interface with contractor QA QC client representatives and project team Provide technical clarification and inspection feedback

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
• CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
• Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.

Experience Requirements:

• 5-10 years in welding inspection.
• Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments.
• Having Experience in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards is added advantage.

• Willing to work in onshore yard environments.
• Ability to work under strict timelines and quality requirements.
