Job summary

Tata Projects Oman onshore fabrication yard seeks Welding Inspectors - CBT with 5–10 years of welding inspection experience, including Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments. Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX and offshore fabrication standards is required.

Candidates must hold CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI, CBT certification, and a Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience with jackets, topsides, or offshore modules is an added advantage; immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
• CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
• 5-10 years of welding inspection experience.
• Experience in Third-Party Inspection (TPI) assignments.
• Experience in offshore structures fabricated in onshore yards is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate NDT activities and witness RT, UT, MT, PT.
• Review NDT reports for acceptance criteria.
• Prepare inspection reports and QA/QC documentation.
• Review welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and material traceability.
• Interface with client, QA/QC team, and project staff.
• Identify NCRs and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO standards and client specs.

Job Position: Welding Inspectors - CBT

Job Location: Oman (Onshore Fabrication Yard)

Duty Hours: 10 Hrs - 6 Days.

Key Responsibilities:

1. NDT Coordination
2. Witness and validate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT.
3. Review NDT reports and ensure acceptance criteria compliance.
4. Documentation & Reporting
5. Review and endorse QA/QC documentation including:
6. Welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
7. Inspection reports
8. Material traceability records
9. Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and submit to client/TPI agency.
10. Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
11. Compliance & Standards
12. Ensure adherence to: AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO standards, Client specifications and project requirements
13. Verify material identification and traceability.
14. Stakeholder Coordination
15. Interface with contractor QA/QC, client representatives, and project team.
16. Provide technical clarification and inspection feedback.

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

1. Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
2. CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
3. CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
4. Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.

Experience Requirements:

1. 5-10 years in welding inspection.
2. Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments.
3. Having Experience in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards is added advantage.

Additional Requirements:

1. Willing to work in onshore yard environments.
2. Ability to work under strict timelines and quality requirements.
