Job summary

TQ CERT SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a CBT Welding Inspector – Third Party Inspection (TPI) for Oman onshore yard to oversee welding and fabrication of offshore structures. The assessor will act as an independent representative, ensuring compliance with client specs, international standards, and project quality requirements.

The role requires 5–10 years in welding inspection, TPI experience, CST/CSWIP/AWS-CWI credentials, and ervaring in offshore jackets, topsides or modules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
• CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
• 5–10 years in welding inspection; mandatory TPS experience.
• Experience with offshore structure fabrication onshore yards.

Responsibilities

• Act as independent third-party representative to ensure welding and fabrication activities comply with client specifications and standards.
• Provide unbiased inspection, verification, and reporting to the client.
• Review QA/QC documentation and provide inspection feedback.
• Identify and report non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractor QA/QC, client representatives and project team.

Job Summary

The CBT Welding Inspector (TPI) will act as an independent third-party representative to ensure that all welding and fabrication activities for offshore structures are executed in full compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements. The role involves unbiased inspection, verification, and reporting to the client.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
• CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
• Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.

Experience Requirements

• 5–10 years in welding inspection.
• Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments.
• Strong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards.
• Experience in GCC (preferably Oman) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW.
• Strong understanding of fit-up tolerances and structural fabrication.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and weld maps.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation systems.

Soft Skills

• High integrity and impartiality (critical for TPI role).
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams.

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work in onshore yard environments.
• Ability to work under strict timelines and quality requirements.
