Job summary

Talentco is seeking a Ship Repair - Sales Manager in Muscat to identify and secure ship repair, afloat repairs, dry-docking and overhauls. You will lead business development, manage client relationships and coordinate with production teams to ensure profitable outcomes.

The role requires extensive experience in ship repair sales, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel across GCC regions to expand the company’s market presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field (preferred).
• 10-15 years of experience in ship repair sales, dry-docking, or marine engineering services.
• Experience in GCC ports/shipyards is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new ship repair, maintenance and refit opportunities from ship owners, managers, operators, charterers and agents.
• Review RFQs/RFIs, technical specs and docking repair lists; prepare quotations and negotiate terms.
• Act as primary client representative during the repair cycle and coordinate with production and procurement teams.

The Ship Repair Sales Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities New customers Ship Owners amp Managers developing client relationships and securing profitable ship repair works projectsincluding afloat repairs dry-docking jobs mechanical overhauls steel and piping works Electrical and propulsion works The role ensures consistent revenue growth while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and operational coordination with the ship repair production teams

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales amp Business DevelopmentIdentify pursue and secure new ship repair maintenance and refit opportunities from ship owners managers operators charterers and agents Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional and international clients Expand the companys market presence across GCC India Africa and Asia as applicable Conduct client visits vessel inspections and attend meetings onboard or at port Track industry trends shipping movements and competitor activity
2. Tendering amp CommercialReview RFQs RFIs technical specifications and docking repair lists Prepare and submit quotations dry-docking estimates and repair proposals Negotiate prices terms and commercial conditions with clients Finalize contracts work orders and commercial agreements in line with company policies
3. Customer amp Project InterfaceAct as the primary client representative throughout the repair cycle Communicate customer requirements clearly to production engineering and procurement teams Provide progress updates and ensure timely resolution of customer concerns Support invoicing variation order capture and timely payment collection
4. Coordination amp Internal SupportAttend repair kick-off meetings and provide commercial handover to operations Ensure accurate job costing margin protection and revenue forecasting Support planning and logistics teams with adequate lead time for materials manpower and subcontracting
5. Reporting amp ComplianceMaintain accurate CRM records sales funnels and weekly performance reports Meet sales targets revenue goals and collection KPIs Ensure all sales practices follow company policies HSE guidelines and ethical standards
