DHL Global Forwarding in Muscat, Oman, is seeking a Senior Road Freight Operations Coordinator to lead end-to-end road freight activities for domestic and international shipments. You will ensure resource allocation, route optimization, and timely delivery while maintaining compliance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 5–8 years in logistics operations with 2–3 years in a senior coordination role, plus knowledge of local and cross-border markets, customs, and multi-model operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in road freight transportation or logistics operations.
• 2-3 years in a senior operational coordination role.
• Knowledge of local and cross-border transportation markets, pricing strategies, and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and multi-model operations.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and monitor end-to-end road freight operations for domestic and international shipments.
• Ensure timely allocation of transport resources and effective route planning.
• Manage transportation activities from order receipt through final delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve operational issues, delays, and service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, transport regulations, and company standards.
• Collaborate with Sales to manage RFQs, participate in e-bidding, develop pricing strategies, and secure profitable business opportunities.
• Maintain high levels of operational efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
• Coordinate with transport vendors and subcontractors to ensure vehicle availability and service reliability.
• Monitor carrier performance against KPIs.
• Support contract implementation and rate compliance.
• Assist in onboarding and evaluating transport providers.
• Act as the primary operational contact for key customers.
• Provide timely shipment updates and solutions to customer inquiries.
• Handle escalations professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work with commercial teams to support growth and retention.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Analyze transport performance indicators and identify trends for improvement.
• Ensure adherence to transport regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
• Identify process improvements and participate in digitalization and automation projects.
• Train and mentor junior operations coordinators.

Operational Management

• Coordinate and monitor end-to-end road freight operations for domestic and international shipments.
• Ensure timely allocation of transport resources and effective route planning.
• Manage transportation activities from order receipt through final delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve operational issues, delays, and service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, transport regulations, and company standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Sales team to manage RFQs (Requests for Quotation), participate in e-bidding activities, develop competitive pricing strategies, and secure profitable business opportunities
• Maintain high levels of operational efficiency, productivity, and service quality.

Carrier & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with transport vendors and subcontractors to ensure vehicle availability and service reliability.
• Monitor carrier performance against agreed KPIs.
• Support contract implementation and rate compliance.
• Assist in onboarding and evaluating transport providers.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary operational contact for key customers.
• Provide timely shipment updates and solutions to customer inquiries.
• Handle escalations professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with commercial teams to support business growth and customer retention.

Performance & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Analyze transportation performance indicators, including:
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Vehicle Utilization
• Cost per Shipment
• Carrier Performance
• Claims and Exceptions
• Identify trends and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to transport regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Monitor driver and vehicle compliance documentation.
• Support health, safety, and security initiatives.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational efficiencies.
• Participate in digitalization and automation projects.
• Support implementation of new operational procedures and best practices.
• Train and mentor junior operations coordinators.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional certifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management are advantageous.

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in road freight transportation or logistics operations.
• Minimum 2-3 years in a senior operational coordination role.
• Proven experience in domestic transportation operations, with strong knowledge of local transportation regulations and compliance requirements, in addition to cross-border transportation activities
• Comprehensive understanding of local and cross-border transportation markets, including market trends, pricing strategies, commercial management, and customer requirements. Experience in developing competitive transport solutions and managing rate negotiations is essential.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and multi-model operations.
