Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a skilled Solar/Wind Engineer to join our renewable energy development team in Oman. You will design and optimize solar PV and wind systems, using PVsyst and WindPro, and assess hybrid PV+Wind configurations for utility-scale projects.

You will define plant configurations, prepare technical specs and BOQs, analyze shading and grid interconnection options, design string layouts and SLDs, and collaborate with project managers, GIS teams and external consultants to ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the design or engineering of solar and/or wind power plants.
Proficiency with PVsyst, WindPro, and Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of MV/LV electrical infrastructure in utility-scale renewable projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and create single-line diagrams (SLDs) and technical layouts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Perform technical simulations and yield assessments for solar and wind projects.
Define optimal PV and wind configurations considering generation profile and site constraints.
Prepare technical specifications and equipment BOQs, including inverters and MV stations.
Evaluate shading impact in hybrid PV+Wind systems and mitigation strategies.
Analyze connection options to the electrical grid and interconnection points.
Design string configurations and PV string-to-inverter mapping.
Collaborate with project managers, GIS teams, and external consultants to ensure design accuracy.
Support permitting, tendering, and procurement with technical inputs.
