Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a Junior Renewable Energy Project Developer in Oman to assist in identifying sites for wind and solar projects from concept through construction. You will support feasibility studies, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and financial modeling to help deliver clean energy projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Renewable Energy, 1–2 years of related experience, and familiarity with GIS tools and energy modeling software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, or related field (internships included).
• Familiarity with wind/solar project lifecycle stages (development, permitting, construction, operations).
• Basic proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro), PVsyst for solar and/or wind modeling software (WindPro, WAsP).
• Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and modeling; Python (Pandas, NumPy) or MatLab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in site selection for wind and solar projects by analyzing land suitability, resource potential, grid connectivity, and environmental constraints.
• Conduct preliminary feasibility studies, including land use assessments, topography reviews, and regulatory zoning checks.
• Support permitting processes with local, state, and federal agencies; track regulatory requirements and deadlines.
• Assist in building relationships with landowners, utilities, and government officials; support public consultations.
• Collaborate on financial models (LCOE, ROI) and energy yield assessments; review engineering designs.
• Maintain organized project documentation and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends, policy changes, and new opportunities for wind and solar development.
