Job summary

gu-recruitment is looking for a Deputy Project Manager in Muscat, Oman, to support the Construction Director on wind and solar energy projects from tender through close-out. You’ll coordinate design, commercial, legal, and procurement interfaces while driving safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

The role requires independent decision-making, proactive risk management, and leadership across multiple workstreams with senior stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and relevant professional experience.
• Experience in wind farm and/or solar PV plant construction.
• Strong civil works knowledge for large renewable projects.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, cost control and KPI tracking.
• Commercial/contractual awareness and adept stakeholder communication.
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple streams.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Construction Director in subcontractor and vendor negotiations.
• Develop and manage master schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
• Coordinate tendering, pre-construction, and construction methodologies.
• Conduct site visits, permit coordination, and interface with regulators.
• Prepare executive dashboards and monthly progress reports.
