Job summary

TRACTEBEL in Oman seeks a Solar Engineer to provide expert technical review, construction supervision, commissioning support and performance verification for utility-scale PV works under an Owner’s Engineer assignment.

The role requires extensive experience in PV design review, tracker and inverter systems, DC/AC collection, SCADA, testing and performance assessment, with proven coordination across electrical, civil, grid and commissioning teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
Minimum 10 years in utility-scale solar PV design, construction supervision, commissioning, or advisory roles.
Experience with PV modules, trackers, inverters, DC/AC systems, SCADA, and PV testing.
Owner’s Engineer/PMC/LTA/EPC supervision on renewables preferred.
Strong PV quality control, inspection/test plans, and performance ratio verification.

Responsibilities

Review solar PV design deliverables, drawings, calculations, specs, method statements and commissioning procedures.
Supervise PV plant construction activities including module installation and tracker systems.
Monitor installation quality, technical compliance, and interfaces with electrical, civil, BESS, grid and commissioning teams.
Witness inspections, pre-commissioning, start-up tests, reliability runs and PV performance testing.
Review PV plant performance data, test records, punch lists, non-conformances and corrective actions.
Support technical meetings, progress reporting, risk reviews and project close-out documentation.
