Job summary

TRACTEBEL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide technical reviews, construction supervision, and commissioning support for high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems in a renewable energy project in Oman.

The role covers substations, underground cabling, overhead line works, and grid coordination, with emphasis on testing, compliance, and industry standards. A senior professional will lead technical oversight and reporting across interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years in HV/MV substations, cabling, or grid-related projects.
• Experience in design review, construction supervision, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience with 400 kV or equivalent HV grid interconnection is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of protection, SCADA, grid compliance, and IEC/IEEE standards.
• Excellent reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical design deliverables, calculations, and test procedures.
• Supervise HV/MV substation, underground cabling, and grid interface works.
• Support coordination with grid, transmission, contract teams, and interfaces.
• Witness inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, energisation, and commissioning activities.
• Address technical queries, non-conformances, and change requests with recommendations.
• Monitor compliance with grid requirements and industry standards.
• Contribute to progress reports, risk registers, and design reviews.
