Job summary

Gender is seeking a Principal Engineer (Electrical) in Oman to lead qualification programs and advanced power system simulations using the Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS). You will model complex grid scenarios, including renewable penetration and market dynamics, to validate operational readiness and support LDC certification.

The role requires guiding the technical development of training modules, mentoring staff, and ensuring simulation environments accurately reflect network dynamics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical Power Engineering is required.
• Advanced certification in Power System Simulation or Dispatcher Training Environments is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years experience in large interconnected power system operations or simulation-based training.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of simulation scenarios within the Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS).
• Design and execute the framework for qualification and certification of LDC control engineers.
• Analyze renewable penetration effects on system operation and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide expert analysis and reconstruction of grid events to support root cause analysis.
• Monitor DTS performance and tune parameters to reflect network dynamics.
