Job summary

Gender in Oman seeks a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to oversee maintenance and optimization of critical LDC applications such as EMS/SCADA, WAMS, EDL, and DTS. You will model new assets in operational software and lead the technical liaison between control room operators and IT vendors.

You will manage the Dispatch Training Simulator setup for operator drills, provide advanced troubleshooting, ensure cybersecurity and data integrity, and mentor staff across the section.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in Power System Operations or Utility Application Management.
• Experience with EMS/SCADA systems and utility IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance, tuning, and optimization of LDC applications (EMS/SCADA, WAMS, EDL, DTS).

Job Description

Oversee the daily maintenance, tuning, and optimization of key LDC applications including EMS/SCADA, WAMS, EDL, and DTS. Ensure the accurate modeling of new transmission assets (substations, lines, renewable energy sources) within the operational software environment. Serve as the lead technical liaison between control room operators and IT/software vendors to translate operational needs into technical requirements. Manage the technical setup and scenario development for the Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) to support operator qualification and drills. Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for application failures or performance lags affecting real-time operations. Monitor and report on the performance and availability of LDC applications, identifying opportunities for system upgrades or enhancements. Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols and data integrity standards for all managed operational applications. Supervise the backup and disaster recovery procedures for operational databases and critical application configurations. Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for application use and data management. Manage the section s workforce, providing mentorship and technical training to staff to build internal expertise in power system applications. Knowledge and Understanding of Asset Management, QHSE Management System and IT Security Standard Requirements according to ISO55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix. Undertake additional responsibilities depending on Management and Business requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
