Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Engineer - Mechanical to lead mechanical construction activities on large-scale gas turbine projects.

You will manage inspections, supervise on-site installations, and coordinate with project managers to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience, including power projects and turbine facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, with a focus on power generation projects.
• Experience with Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and Substation Projects.
• Profound knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to develop mechanical project plans and schedules.
• Ensure the timely completion of mechanical project milestones within the allocated budget.
• Regularly report on project progress to senior management.
• Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide input into the design phase to optimize mechanical systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with local mechanical codes and regulations.
• Supervise the on-site installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality and safety of installations.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Lead and motivate a team of mechanical technicians and support staff.
• Offer guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
• Cultivate a culture of safety and professionalism.
• Establish and maintain robust quality control procedures for mechanical work.
• Perform meticulous quality inspections to identify and rectify issues.
