WSP in Oman is seeking a Senior Site Engineer - Mechanical to lead mechanical installation and coordination on Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine projects. You will work with project managers to develop plans, supervise on-site activities, ensure compliance with codes, and deliver milestones on time and within budget.

You will mentor technicians, implement quality and safety practices, manage budgets, and report progress to senior management across landmark power generation sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in power generation.
• Experience with Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and substations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and leadership.

Job Description

As a Senior Site Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for collaborating with project managers ensuring that all Mechanical installations and construction activities on the Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. You will conduct inspections, tests, and audits to verify that the construction and installation processes are executed correctly and safely. collaborating with project managers to develop project plans and schedules, ensuring that milestones are met on time and within budget, and monitoring and reporting project progress to senior management.

Responsibilities

Project Management:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop mechanical project plans and schedules.
• Ensure the timely completion of mechanical project milestones within the allocated budget.
• Regularly report on project progress to senior management.

Mechanical System Design:

• Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide valuable input into the design phase to optimize mechanical systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with local mechanical codes and regulations.

Installation and Maintenance:

• Supervise the on-site installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Conduct systematic inspections to ensure the quality and safety of mechanical installations.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and motivate a team of mechanical technicians and support staff.
• Offer guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
• Cultivate a culture of safety and professionalism within the team.

Quality Assurance:

• Establish and maintain robust quality control procedures for mechanical work.
• Perform meticulous quality inspections to identify and rectify issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

• Guarantee that all mechanical work adheres to safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses.

Budget Management:

• Efficiently manage the mechanical project budget, including cost estimation and control.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, with a focus on power generation projects.
• Experience with Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine Projects and Sub station Projects
• Profound knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management and team leadership.
