Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer – Inverter to lead the development, launch, and sustainment of automated test systems for high‑voltage traction inverter production. You will work closely with design, controls, quality, and production teams to ensure robust, scalable testing and data‑driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in automated test equipment in high‑volume manufacturing.
• Direct experience testing EV traction inverters or high‑power power electronics.
• Knowledge of inverter architectures, power stages, gate drivers, DC‑link capacitors, current sensing, and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Review inverter test specs and approve change requests as the manufacturing test authority.
• Analyze test sequences, limits, cycle time, process flow, and failure‑mode handling for EOL and sub‑assembly tests.
• Design and own inverter test hardware including layout, HV/LV routing, connectors, shielding, grounding, and thermal considerations.
• Develop modular test applications with clear operator interfaces and data logging.
• Implement databases to manage inverter test parameters, results, and traceability.
• Define DUT handling, fixturing, and interfaces for test stations with automated HV connections.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate test apps with PLCs and load/cooling systems.
• Lead sourcing, RFQs, supplier selection, and oversight for external inverter test equipment.
• Develop commissioning and validation plans including GR&R and fault simulation.
• Launch test systems into production and provide on-floor support during ramp.
• Train maintenance and operations teams on test station operation and safe troubleshooting.
• Partner with data analytics teams to enable test data visualization and quality monitoring.
