Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Engineer to lead closures mechanisms and plastics on the manufacturing line. You will be the technical lead for root-cause analysis and deviation containment, supporting launches and sustaining engineering with new part design releases as needed.

Collaboration with core engineering ensures parts meet design and validation requirements. The role requires 5+ years in automotive design/release, CATIA proficiency, and Six Sigma certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with 5+ years automotive experience in design and release.
• Experience with Class A surface data.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with prototype and production assembly.
• Experience with CATIA or similar CAD software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Design release engineering and change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Closures mechanisms/plastics design owner on the manufacturing line.
• Lead root-cause analysis and containment for product issues.
• Support new product launches and execute part concessions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize process sequence and build quality.
• Coordinate and communicate with interfacing suppliers.
• Perform virtual engineering and physical validation testing.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
