Job summary

SGS in Sur, Oman, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the department responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and safe operation of electrical systems across projects.

You will drive technical excellence, manage capital budgets, coordinate with senior leadership, and oversee reliability and HSSE compliance while delivering on-time, within-budget project outcomes for OLNG-related activities.

Qualifications

• 10 years in chemical or oil and gas industry.
• 5 years of troubleshooting electrical networks up to 33kV and HV motors with related controls.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification and IEC standards.
• Technical Authority Level3.
• Experience in execution/management of major industrial projects in Oil & Gas, LNG or energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Drive seamless communication between senior leadership and teams for timely decisions.
• Build a strong team culture and drive collaboration.
• Set goals, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback.
• Conduct regular check-ins to align expectations and performance.
• Lead the electrical engineering team and optimize resource use.
• Support team on operational matters and resolve concerns.
• Train staff on new methods and upskill for performance gains.
• Oversee safety, quality and HSSE compliance in all activities.
• Develop departmental strategies aligned with corporate goals.
• Manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets for electrical activities.
• Lead electrical engineering for capital projects and brownfield modifications.
• Coordinate vendor evaluations, FAT/SAT, and contractor performance.
• Ensure uninterrupted plant operation through robust assurance processes.
• Propose best practices for maintenance and spare parts.
• Act as SME for electrical design, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.
• Control additions to the high voltage network during complex expansions.
