Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (LV & Primary Substation) to represent the Client on site for LV and high-voltage systems within the factory plot, ensuring safe installation, testing, and commissioning readiness. You will lead on-site management, review designs, monitor contractor activities, and ensure works follow IFC drawings, specs, and schedule.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 10+ years of experience in industrial or large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects.
• Experience working client-side or in a consultant role.
• Experience reviewing and overseeing General Contractor electrical works.
• Experience with PMC/Controller companies.
• Prior experience in Oman or GCC countries is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Client’s on-site electrical engineering and site management representative for all LV electrical systems.
• Provide daily site-level oversight of the General Contractor’s and subcontractors’ electrical activities from a Client perspective.
• Review, comment on, and follow up electrical designs, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to LV systems.
• Ensure electrical works are executed in line with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
• Oversee and monitor execution of LV electrical systems, including but not limited to: LV switchboards and distribution boards, internal power distribution and cabling, lighting systems, small power systems, earthing and bonding systems, lightning protection, UPS systems and battery-backed supplies, fire alarm systems interface coordination.
• Identify constructibility issues, interface gaps, and coordination risks with civil, mechanical, and process systems.
• Monitor implementation of the approved Electrical Quality Management Plan on site.
• Witness inspections, testing, and pre-commissioning activities for LV systems (cable insulation resistance testing, continuity and earthing resistance tests, functional testing).

Job description

The Senior Electrical Engineer (LV & Primary Substation) will represent the Client on site for all medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, including the Primary Substation located within the same plot as the factory. The role is critical to ensuring safe installation, testing, generalization, and commissioning readiness of LV systems supplying the factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Client’s on-site electrical engineering and site management representative for all LV electrical systems.
• Provide daily site-level oversight of the General Contractor’s and subcontractors’ electrical activities from a Client perspective.
• Review, comment on, and follow up electrical designs, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to LV systems.
• Ensure electrical works are executed in line with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
• Oversee and monitor execution of LV electrical systems, including but not limited to: LV switchboards and distribution boards (MDB, SMDB, DBs) Internal power distribution and cabling Lighting systems (industrial, external, emergency lighting) Small power systems Earthing and bonding systems Lightning protection systems UPS systems and battery-backed supplies Fire alarm systems (power supply and interface coordination) Identify construct ability issues, interface gaps, and coordination risks with civil, mechanical, and process systems.

• Experience working alongside PMC / Controller companies
• Prior experience in Oman or GCC countries is an advantage
