Job summary

TUV Rheinland Middle East LLC - Oman, Al Wusta is seeking an experienced electrical superintendent to lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on a major onshore energy project. You will coordinate with construction, commissioning, operations, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure safe, timely, and compliant execution through energization, testing, and handover to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 12–15 years of experience in electrical engineering on large EPC or energy infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of complex industrial facilities (LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power).
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of international electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.).
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills in a multicultural site environment.
• High level of competence in electrical safety management and energization planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including inspections, testing, energization, and system handover.
• Ensure readiness of electrical systems for commissioning by validating construction completion, punch list clearance, and mechanical completion dossiers.
• Oversee execution of insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, functional testing, loop checks, cable meggering, and high-voltage testing.
• Manage and authorize electrical system energization activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and permits.
• Coordinate commissioning sequences aligned with system priorities and overall project schedules.
