Green Umbrella Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant - Construction to oversee project accounting in Muscat. You will manage construction-related accounting, cost tracking, and project financial reporting to support informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting with at least 3 years in construction/real estate accounting, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, and professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, or CPA.

Job Description

Manage construction-related accounting, project financialreporting, cost tracking, reconciliations, payment verification, and complianceto support accurate decision-making and financial control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Accounting

• Maintain accurate project accounts, cost centers, WIPrecords, budgets, commitments, and accruals.
• Record contractor, consultant, supplier, retention,advance payment, and variation transactions.

Payments & Controls

• Review invoices, payment certificates, LPOs, contracts,delivery notes, and approvals before posting or payment.
• Ensure payments follow the company authority matrix,contract terms, and supporting document requirements.

Reporting

• Prepare monthly project financial reports, budget vsactual analysis, cash flow updates, and cost-to-complete summaries.
• Support management with profitability, receivables,payables, and project exposure reports.
• Perform bank, supplier, contractor, intercompany, escrow,VAT, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support audits, tax filings, documentation requests, andaccounting standard compliance.

Coordination

• Coordinate with projects, procurement, sales, legal, andmanagement on financial matters.
• Maintain organized accounting files and ensure timelymonth-end closing.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; ACCA,CMA, CPA, or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience

5+ years in accounting with at least 3 years inconstruction, contracting, or real estate development accounting.
