Job Summary
CCTV Room Operator is responsible for supporting the implementation and day-to-day operation of security surveillance systems within the workplace. The role focuses on ensuringthat guests, employees, contractors, and company assets are protected from potential security threats through continuous monitoring and timely reporting. The CCTV Room Operator’s duties include monitoring CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with security procedures, identifyingsuspicious activities, and reporting risks or incidents in accordance with company policies. The role also involves assisting with emergency response, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall security operations under the direction of Security Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluation of all monitored activities with a view to assessing potential risks and security threats.
- Ensure compliance with company security standards and procedures at all times.
- Continuous monitoring of CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Identify suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security breaches and report immediately.
- Recording all incidents, observations, and actions taken in the occurrence log system.
- Review CCTV footage during investigations and provide accurate evidence when required.
- Communicate and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders (security teams, emergency services, management, and departments) in alignment with emergency response situations to ensure timely effective action.
- Assist during emergencies by providing real-time information from surveillance systems.
- Ensure all surveillance equipment is functioning properly and report faults or malfunctions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all security systems, footage, and operational information.
- Provide solutions and recommendations to improve monitoring effectiveness.
- Work diligently to maintain a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Follow up on incidents and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Support preparation of reports, statistics, and security records.
- Ensure safe and proper use of all monitoring equipment.
Standard Responsibilities
- Monitor daily security operations through CCTV systems to ensure safety of guests, employees, visitors, and property at all times
- Enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in line with company requirements
- Monitor CCTV, fire alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies
- Ensure all monitoring systems are operational and any faults are reported immediately
- Comply and adhere to company policies at all times
- Take on additional tasks within a reasonable framework as required.
- Model the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Respond to incidents efficiently and professionally
- Consistently meet expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

Health & Safety

- Report any defects in systems, equipment, or facilities according to procedure.
- Ensure that any incidents or accidents are reported immediately and correctly.
- Attend required Fire, Health & Safety training and comply with all procedures.
- Be fully conversant with emergency procedures including fire, evacuation, and security threats.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the CCTV control room.
