Job summary

Strabag is seeking a Post-Contract QS Engineer in Oman (Muscat) to manage QS activities for awarded road construction projects. You will handle measurements, IPAs, variations, and subcontractor accounts from award to final account, coordinating with site teams and the client’s consultant.

The role requires 3–7 years of post-contract QS experience, strong FIDIC knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD. Arabic is a plus and driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or QS required.
• 3–7 years of post-contract QS experience, with at least 2 years on road or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and standard methods of measurement.
• Proven IPAs, variations, claims and final accounts experience.
• Membership of the Oman Society of Engineers (OSE) preferred.
• Valid driving license.
• Advanced Excel and AutoCAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review the awarded contract, BOQ and specs and monitor contract compliance (FIDIC or similar).
• Prepare monthly interim payment applications (IPAs) and follow up on certification and payment.
• Carry out joint site measurements with the consultant for earthworks, sub-base, asphalt, kerbs, drainage and culverts.
• Identify, price and submit variations and change orders.
• Prepare extension of time and claims submissions with supporting records.
• Keep records of site instructions, day works, delays and site events.
• Issue and respond to contractual letters and notices.
• Prepare subcontract agreements and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
• Measure and certify subcontractor payments and close final accounts.
• Prepare, reconcile and negotiate the final account with the client, including retention and outstanding payments.
