Job summary

Superiority of Modern Services LLC(SOMS) in Oman seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support E&M projects and outages at the Sur Independent Power Plant. You will assist the Mechanical Lead in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance, outages, and project activities while ensuring safety and reliability.

You will oversee maintenance planning, coordinate with operations and contractors, and drive continuous improvement, reporting, and documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10–20 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, outage execution, or maintenance project support in power/utility environments.
Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating with operations, engineering, and contractors.

Responsibilities

Support the Mechanical Lead in planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical maintenance, outages, and projects at Sur Independent Power Plant.
Coordinate resources, monitor progress, and escalate critical issues to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and quality.
Prepare outage plans, schedules, and man‑power requirements; monitor progress using MS Project.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors, and other stakeholders to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
Provide technical support during troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and commissioning of plant mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and permit-to-work procedures and maintain thorough documentation.
