Job summary

Gender is seeking a Heavy Lifting Operator in Oman to drive and operate heavy lifting equipment for ship repair and fabrication tasks. You will follow shifting plans, inspect machinery, and maintain equipment to ensure work progresses on schedule with safety and quality standards.

The role requires at least 10+2 or ITI trade certification and an Oman ROP license. Also responsible for daily reports, coordination with supervisors, and adherence to HSE procedures to ensure incident-free operations

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

To drive/operate heavy lifting equipment s as per the requirement from production division/Supervisor for fabrication/ installation /erection of blocks and shifting of materials/equipment in order to ensure that the activities of ship repair/conversion project works are conducted as per timelines, quality, health and safety standards established within ADC.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Day-to-Day Operations Operator must have previous experience of operating all type of heavy lifting equipment s. Follow the shifting procedure/plans and travelling route/ load details etc. Familiar with heavy lifting vehicles and its system (for trouble shooting finding the route cause ) Good reading & understanding command on operating function/lever (able to understand LCD parameter/function) Knowledge about loading / unloading and balance identification and fully aware about signal/and road signs as per the local ROP regulations. Co-ordination with production division and other heavy lift operators Aware about safety concern during operation/parking and Near miss/ incident/accident to be reported. Preferable if any certification course for heavy lifting transportation.

Maintenance Activities

Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the equipment always. And perform routine pre and post inspections on equipment in order to ensure they are operating well and as per established Quality, health and safety standards. Carry out preventive maintenance of the equipment s such as lubricating the equipment and regular cleaning to ensure that the equipment is ready to use at all times. Prepare logbook for routine, preventive, breakdown maintenance of the equipment s in the industrial facilities in order to facilitate ease of access and reusability when required.

Job Tracking and Reports

Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the equipment. Ensure work conforms to company safety policies, ROP rules and regulation. Inform immediately if any maintenance is required in the equipment.

Coordination

Coordinate with the Supervisor/senior Supervisor on all technical areas such as use of equipment s in order to ensure that the scheduled plans are completed on time.

Preparing Reports

Prepare daily reports on progress of jobs, which is allocated by the Supervisor. Report all daily activities in order to keep the Supervisor aware of the progress.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

Follow all relevant Production Support departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment

Adhere to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls and demonstrate the proper application and their importance in safe operations in order to ensure the safety of employees, quality of products/ services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed. Review and describe the need for emergency response procedures for various situations such as: electrical or mechanical failure, operator retrieval procedures and incidents in order to ensure continuity of operations in cases of emergencies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications: 10+2 or any ITI trade certificate or equivalent trade certificate: Minimum Experience: 0-1 year of relevant experience, Heavy duty transporter operation (prefer shipyard experience) Operator must have valid Oman (ROP) License to operate heavy lift equipment s
