Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on construction and earthmoving equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains while ensuring all maintenance activities comply with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on heavy construction and earthmoving equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults related to diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and powertrain components.
- Carry out repairs efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential mechanical issues before failure.
- Use diagnostic tools, testing equipment and service manuals to accurately identify faults.
- Ensure all repairs are completed according to OEM specifications and company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate service reports, inspection records and maintenance documentation.
- Follow workplace health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations at all times.
- Coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager regarding repair status and spare parts requirements.
- Provide technical support and maintain professional communication with customers and equipment owners.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and powertrain components.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment efficiently.
- Hands‑on experience using diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
- Familiarity with construction and earthmoving equipment operating in Oman is preferred.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Technology or Heavy Equipment Technology.
- Equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in servicing and repairing heavy construction or earthmoving equipment.
Preferred Equipment Experience
- Experience working on one or more of the following equipment: Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Backhoe Loaders, Motor Graders, Bulldozers, Rollers, Skid Steer Loaders, Telehandlers, Cranes (preferred).
- Other heavy construction equipment.
