Job summary

RM Staffing B.V. is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work in Muscat, Oman. This role involves on-site support for mission-critical infrastructure at top data center facilities. Responsibilities include hardware installations, structured cabling, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of data center or IT infrastructure experience, strong cabling skills, and relevant data center certifications. Competitive hourly rates apply based on experience and project complexity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments.
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.

Skills

Cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber)

Server hardware experience (Dell, HP, Supermicro)

Professional communication skills in English

Education

Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, or similar)

Network certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+)

Tools

Standard tools (screwdrivers, cable testers, label makers)
