Job summary

SkySys is seeking a Field IT Support Engineer to provide onsite dispatch support at the client location. This is a part-time/on-demand role with visits typically 1–2 times per month and a compensation rate of $11/hour as an independent contractor.

Location is Sohar, Oman, with work occurring during standard business hours and requiring a personal laptop for connectivity. NOC sponsorship authorization is required to work with SkySys.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Field IT / Desktop Support experience.
• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting and PC break/fix experience.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, networking, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and RDP.
• Experience supporting printers, laptops, desktops, and other IT peripherals.
• NOC required confirming sponsor authorization to work with SkySys.
• CompTIA A+ or relevant technical certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite dispatch support at the client location.
• Visits will be scheduled on an as-needed basis, typically 1–2 visits per month.
• Support generally during Monday–Friday business hours.
• Must have personal laptop for onsite support and remote connectivity.

Required Skills

• 1+ years of Field IT / Desktop Support experience.
• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting and PC break/fix experience.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, networking, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and RDP.
• Experience supporting printers, laptops, desktops, and other IT peripherals.
• Smart Hands / onsite infrastructure support experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift/move IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Personal laptop required for onsite support and remote connectivity.
• NOC required confirming sponsor authorization to work with SkySys.
• CompTIA A+ or relevant technical certification is preferred.

Working Model
