Interior Designer – Sales | CASALUX Luxury Tile & Porcelain Showroom
Location: Muscat, Sultanate of Oman | Employment Type: Full-time
About CASALUX
CASALUX is the new luxury showroom of Mediterranean Gate Business & Trading LLC (MGBT), a multi-brand Omani business group headquartered in Muscat. As the exclusive agent in the Sultanate of Oman for a curated portfolio of premium Italian and Spanish porcelain and tile brands, CASALUX brings to the Omani market collections that are not available anywhere else in the country. Our showroom is designed as a destination for homeowners, architects, interior designers and developers who expect the finest in surface design.
About the Role
We are looking for an Interior Designer – Sales to be the face of CASALUX to every client who walks through our doors. This is a hybrid role that combines the creative expertise of an interior designer with the commercial ownership of a sales professional. You will welcome the client, understand their project and lifestyle, develop a tailored tile and porcelain design solution, and guide them all the way through to a closed sale and a smooth delivery.
You will sell on design value, exclusivity and quality, delivering a consultative, design-led buying experience that reflects the standard of the brands we represent.
Key Responsibilities
Client Reception & Consultation
- Welcome every client with a premium, personalised experience aligned with the CASALUX brand.
- Lead structured discovery conversations to understand the client's project (villa, apartment, hospitality, commercial), space, style preferences, budget and timeline.
- Present our Italian and Spanish collections by mood, application and design story, not by price list.
- Manage walk-in, appointment and referred clients (architects, designers, contractors) and maintain a professional follow-up log for every lead.
Design & Specification
- Translate client requirements into complete tile and porcelain concepts: material selection, formats, finishes, colour palettes, layout patterns and combinations across floors, walls, façades and wet areas.
- Prepare mood boards, sample boards, 2D layouts and 3D visualisations (SketchUp, 3ds Max, AutoCAD or equivalent) to help clients visualise the final result.
- Take or verify site measurements, calculate quantities accurately (including wastage and cutting allowances) and prepare detailed material schedules.
- Advise on technical suitability: slip resistance, thickness, rectified edges, large-format handling, grout and adhesive systems, and installation requirements.
- Coordinate design details with the client's architect, interior designer or contractor where applicable.
Sales & Closing
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed order: proposal, quotation, negotiation within approved pricing authority, and closing.
- Prepare accurate quotations and pro-forma invoices, clearly stating collections, formats, quantities, lead times and payment terms.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales and conversion targets.
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary products (trims, mosaics, decorative pieces, sanitary ware, adhesives and profiles) to grow average order value.
- Maintain the CRM with complete, up-to-date records of enquiries, quotations, orders and follow-ups.
Product & Brand Expertise
- Build and maintain expert knowledge of every collection in the showroom: brand heritage, manufacturing technology, formats, finishes, technical data sheets and certifications.
- Communicate the exclusivity story of CASALUX and its brands with confidence.
- Stay current on international tile and interior design trends (Cersaie, Cevisama, brand launches) and share insights with clients and colleagues.
- Participate in supplier trainings and product launches.
Order Execution & After-Sales
- Coordinate with Logistics, Warehouse and Finance to confirm stock, lead times, payments and delivery schedules, keeping the client informed at every stage.
- Follow up on site delivery and liaise with the installation team or the client's contractor to ensure the design is executed as specified.
- Handle client queries and complaints professionally, escalating when required, and protect the client relationship and the brand.
- Build long-term relationships with clients, architects and designers to generate repeat business and referrals.
Showroom Standards & Reporting
- Keep displays, sample libraries and design stations immaculate and merchandised to a luxury standard.
- Submit regular reports on visitors, leads, quotations, conversions and lost-sale reasons to the Showroom Manager.
- Support marketing activities, showroom events, designer evenings and exhibitions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or a related design discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, including at least 1-2 years in a client-facing sales or showroom role, preferably in tiles, porcelain, sanitary ware, luxury finishing materials or high-end furniture.
- Proven track record of converting design consultations into sales and meeting targets.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp (or 3ds Max / Revit), Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office; rendering skills are a strong advantage.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a plus.
- Experience with residential and hospitality projects in Oman or the GCC, and familiarity with local contractors and consultants, is preferred.
- Valid Omani driving license preferred for site visits.
Skills & Competencies
- Refined aesthetic sense and the ability to articulate design concepts persuasively.
- Consultative, luxury-standard selling and negotiation skills with a client-first mindset.
- Strong technical understanding of porcelain, ceramic and stone-effect products, formats and installation.
- Accuracy in measurement, quantity take-off and quotation preparation.
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, with polished personal grooming and etiquette.
- Organized, target-driven and self-motivated, able to manage several client projects simultaneously.
- Integrity, discretion and full commitment to the CASALUX brand standards.

- Professional business attire and grooming consistent with a luxury retail environment.
