Job summary

Vale Oman is seeking an Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of assets. You will plan, execute, and monitor preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities for instrumentation and automation systems, including PLC, DCS, and SCADA, while complying with VPS and HSE standards.

Responsibilities include planning maintenance, supervising technicians, analyzing performance data, and coordinating with OEMs/vendors for spare parts and technical support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrument, Automation, Control Systems or related field.
• Solid knowledge of DCS/PLC, control systems, industrial networks and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to HSE guidelines and VPS practices.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance for instrumentation and automation systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
• Coordinate shutdowns and Turnarounds; develop SOPs/JSAs.
• Monitor system performance and advise on corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor technicians; ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
• Manage analyzer systems and calibration programs; support vendor interactions.
