Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking a Safety Officer to support the heat exchanger maintenance project at OQ Refinery, Oman. The role focuses on monitoring site safety, inspections, risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture on site.

The ideal candidate holds NEBOSH certification and a degree in OSH or related field, with knowledge of refinery safety practices. Oman nationals are preferred; Freshers may apply. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Good knowledge of HSE procedures and workplace safety.
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas / Refinery safety practices is advantageous.
• Candidates with knowledge of heat exchanger maintenance will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce HSE rules and procedures at the worksite.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Support preparation and review of Risk Assessments, JSA and Method Statements.
• Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements for confined space, hot work, working at height and LOTO.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations.
• Monitor safety during heat exchanger maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports and records.

The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring site safety, conducting inspections, supporting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with HSE procedures, and promoting a strong safety culture at the worksite.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Support preparation and review of Risk Assessments, JSA and Method Statements.
• Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements for confined space, hot work, working at height and LOTO.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations.
• Monitor safety during heat exchanger maintenance activities, including hydrojetting, chemical cleaning, retubing, blinding/deblinding and lifting activities.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports and records.

Desired Candidate Profile
