Job summary

Avanta Works in Muscat, Oman, is seeking a Head Pastry Chef to oversee all baked goods and desserts in our high-end restaurant. You will lead a team of pastry cooks and bakers, driving quality, productivity and creativity to maintain our standards.

The role requires proven leadership, expert pastry techniques, and strong time management to meet production deadlines. Fluent English is essential; Arabic is a plus. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as head pastry chef or similar in a high-end restaurant.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Degree or certification from culinary school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to maintain quality and freshness.

Head Pastry Chef

As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of all baked goods and desserts in our high-end restaurant in Muscat. Your creativity and expertise in pastry making will be essential in creating and maintaining the high standards expected from our establishment. You will lead a team of pastry cooks and bakers, ensuring their training, productivity, and quality of work meets our requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and create new dessert and pastry recipes that align with our restaurant\'s concept
• Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to maintain quality and freshness
• Oversee the production of pastries, breads, cakes, and other desserts

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in various pastry techniques including baking, decorating, chocolate work, etc.
• Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines without compromising quality
• Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment
• Strong understanding of food cost control measures
• Attention to detail and creativity in recipe development
• Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
• Degree or certification from culinary school preferred
