Job summary

Specialized Import and Trading LLC in Muscat leads the Real Estate business within the Asset Management Department, guiding acquisition, disposal and ongoing management of real estate assets and the creation and launch of new funds and products in this asset class.

The role requires steering cross-functional teams, monitoring fund performance, and developing strategies to enhance investor value while coordinating with regulators and internal governance processes.

Job Description

Be the leader of Real Estate business of Asset Management Department and steer the acquisition, disposal and management of real estate assets of Asset Management Department and creation and launch of new funds and products within Real Estate asset class by Asset Management Department.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise the origination and execution of all transactions and ongoing management of real estate assets of the business.
• Manage, and coordinate with, the team members for the delivery of the overall objectives of the business, as needed.
• Monitor the performance of the real estate funds and portfolios regularly and craft and execute appropriate strategies to improve their performance.
• Assess the capital structures of each entity or vehicle within the business on a regular basis and develop and execute potential solutions to enhance value to the investors.
• Steer the business development including origination of new deals (acquisition and exits) and setting up new funds and portfolios and related execution.
• Act as a key point of contact for all existing and potential clients and investors of real estate business and develop and maintain senior level relationships.
• Interact with regulators (such as CBO, CMA, MSM), as needed, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements as well as internal policies.
• Coordinate with the Business Management team for Fund Management Board and unitholder meetings and related processes, external and internal audits, submission of responses to any questions as requested by internal or external parties, etc.
• Propose the strategy of real estate business for internal approvals and lead the execution of the approved strategy.
• Prepare the budget for the real estate business and submit for approvals and steer the business towards achieving the budget.
• Provide regular updates of the business to the supervisors.
• Encourage cross-sell initiatives by the real estate business within IBCM as well as to other divisions of the Bank.
• Provide guidance and feedback to team members and support team members as appropriate.
• Propose the talent management, performance management, HR and recruitment requirements of real estate business and supervise the execution as per the approved plan.
