Job summary

Renardet SA & Partners in Oman seeks an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to lead design and advisory work on complex ground-related projects. The role requires deep knowledge of foundation design, slope stability, and interpretation of site investigations, with a strong emphasis on reporting and independent analysis.

The candidate should have at least 10 years in geotechnical engineering, be familiar with Omani standards and FIDIC, and proficient with Rocscience software or equivalent tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Oman-equivalency required by the ministry.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional geotechnical experience.
• Membership with the Oman Society of Engineers is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Oman standards and FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Training experience is an advantage.

Job description

Renardet is seeking for a Geotechnical Engineer that should be highly qualified and experienced in their respective field, having professional work experience in the Sultanate of Oman. The Expert will be responsible for providing design, advice and technical assistance on all issues to the related subject and work closely with a dedicated team of engineers. Further requirements for this position are as follows:

• Interpretation of ground investigations and development of design parameters.


• Shallow and pile foundations, bearing capacity and settlement.


• Soil and rock slope stability, retaining structures and slope stabilization.


• Proficiency in Rocscience software, including Slide2/3, Dips, SWedge and RocPlane.


• Familiarity with Eurocode 7, BS/EN, ASTM and ISRM standards.


• Strong technical reporting skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Experience with PLAXIS or RS2/RS3 is an advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from reputed institutions (the qualification attained from outside of Oman should have same equivalency from Ministry of Higher Education of Oman.


• Membership with the Oman Society of Engineers is a must.


• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the position in geotechnical field.


• Well versed and familiar with Sultanate of Oman and FIDIC Conditions of Contract as well as Oman Standard Specifications of Roads and Bridges.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Prior experience in imparting training shall be advantageous.
