Job summary

WSP Oman is seeking a senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide specialist expertise for marine and coastal developments, including reclamation, breakwaters, and ports. You will lead field investigations, perform analyses, and support design across multidisciplinary project teams.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in marine/geotechnical engineering, proficiency with Plaxis/GeoStudio/FLAC, and fluency in English (Arabic a plus). Travel to project sites in Oman will be needed as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of marine/coastal geotechnical experience.
• Proven track record on reclamation, breakwater, port projects.
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute marine and coastal site investigations (boreholes, CPT, sampling, in-situ testing).
• Perform geotechnical analyses and design for reclamation, breakwaters, quay walls, ports, jetties and associated structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, design calculations, and technical specifications.
• Review and comment on design packages submitted by consultants and internal teams.
• Provide on-site construction support, including monitoring, troubleshooting and design modifications.
• Coordinate with structural, hydraulic, environmental and other discipline engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Omani regulations, international codes and WSP quality standards.
• Maintain and manage geotechnical data, databases and project documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
• Assist in business development activities, proposal preparation and client presentations.

Responsibilities include field investigations, analytical design, construction support and close coordination with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure safe, cost‑effective delivery of complex maritime infrastructure.
