Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Act as strategic partner to leadership for expansion, investments, and operational efficiency.
• Drive profitability, cost control, and capital efficiency across shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics operations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning; monitor performance vs budget.
• Support pricing strategies for shipping, warehousing, and logistics services; conduct feasibility studies for new projects.
• Ensure IFRS-compliant financial statements; oversee GL, payables/receivables, fixed assets; close processes.
• Ensure GCC tax compliance (VAT, corporate tax where applicable); liaison with auditors and regulators.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships; optimize funding and liquidity.
• Monitor costs across fuel, freight, port charges, warehousing, and fleet maintenance; drive automation.

GENERAL MANAGER-FINANCE (CLUSTER FINANCE HEAD)

Department: Finance & Accounts, MUSCAT OMAN

Location: GCC (Oman / UAE / Regional Operations)

Reporting To: GCFO/Cluster Director of P&L Cluster

TAX FREE SALARY: BUDGET 60 TO 75 LAKHS

Role Purpose

To lead and manage the financial strategy, planning, compliance, and performance of the Shipping & Logistics business, ensuring financial health, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and strategic decision support aligned with business growth in the GCC region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team for business expansion, investments, and operational efficiency.
• Drive profitability, cost control, and capital efficiency across shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics operations.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Monitor financial performance vs budget and provide variance analysis.
• Support pricing strategies for shipping, freight, warehousing, and logistics services.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new projects, routes, or service lines.

3. Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset management.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Consolidate financials across multiple business units/entities.

4. Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with GCC tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax where applicable).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with shipping, port authority, and logistics-related financial regulations.

5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Optimize funding, credit facilities, and liquidity.
• Oversee forex risk management due to international shipping transactions.

6. Cost Control & Operational Finance

• Monitor and control operational costs (fuel, freight, port charges, warehousing, fleet maintenance).
• Improve cost efficiency and margins across logistics operations.
• Drive automation and financial process improvements.

7. Business Partnering

• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams.
• Provide financial insights for contract negotiations, tenders, and pricing.
• Support strategic initiatives such as expansion, mergers, or restructuring.

8. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across locations.
• Ensure strong succession planning and capability building.
• Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance.
