Job summary

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah is seeking a Financial Accountant to support the hotel's financial operations with accurate records, reconciliations, and sound internal controls in Oman. You will partner with operational teams to drive timely reporting and compliant processes.

In this role you will manage month-end closings, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure VAT and regulatory compliance, while upholding confidentiality and integrity in all financial activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with Opera hotel system and financial/accounting software.
• Excellent Excel skills and VAT/regulatory awareness in Oman.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The Financial Accountant will support the hotel's financial operations by ensuring accurate accounting records, timely reconciliations, effective internal controls, and compliance with hotel policies, IHG standards, and applicable financial and statutory requirements in Oman. A little taste of your day-to-day

• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

• Support the preparation of daily, monthly, and annual financial reports.

• Perform bank, balance sheet, general ledger, and intercompany reconciliations.

• Review and reconcile hotel revenues, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events, Spa, and other operating departments.

• Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions and ensure timely processing and reconciliation.

• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions and accruals are accurately recorded.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and budget-versus-actual analysis.

• Monitor departmental expenses and assist operational leaders with cost control and financial analysis.

• Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions in line with internal controls.

• Assist with inventory, payroll, purchasing, and other finance-related processes as required.

• Support internal and external audits and ensure requested documentation is accurate and readily available.

• Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable Oman tax, VAT, statutory, and regulatory requirements.

• Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

• Work closely with operational departments to promote financial awareness and effective cost management.

• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Business Support.

What do we need from you?

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.

• Previous hotel finance experience is highly desirable.

• Good knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Ledger, and month-end closing processes.

• Experience with hotel systems such as Opera and financial/accounting systems is an advantage.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Knowledge of Oman VAT and applicable financial regulations is preferred.

• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
