Job summary

Client of AJYAL HR Solutions & Services is seeking a Finance Principal to serve as the backbone of financial discipline, governance, and risk management. The role involves providing independent financial oversight, enhancing accountability, and supporting executive decisions for sustainable value creation in Oman.

The ideal candidate will lead finance transformation initiatives and manage relationships with key stakeholders, bringing at least 10-15 years of finance experience and strong expertise in treasury and risk management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior/lead role.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or commodity-based sectors is highly preferred.

Job Summary

The Finance Principal serves as a critical control and value protection function acting as the backbone of financial discipline, governance, risk management and strategic decision support within IGC. The role provides independent financial oversight, strengthens accountability and controls, and supports executive decision making to drive sustainable value creation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead financial governance, internal controls, risk management and compliance frameworks across the organisation.
• Evaluate and oversee complex commercial agreements, pricing structures and contractual risk exposures to protect and enhance business value.
• Act as a strategic finance partner to the CFO, CEO and Board, providing financial insights, challenge and decision support.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives including reporting excellence, process optimisation, ERP systems and performance management.
• Lead, develop and mentor high‑performing finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Manage key relationships with shareholders, regulators, auditors, government entities and executive stakeholders ensuring effective communication and governance at all levels.
• Strong expertise in treasury, liquidity, funding and cash flow management.
• Proven experience in enterprise risk management, hedging and FX/interest rate risk management.
• Advanced financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis capabilities.
• Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Strong track record in performance management, KPI development and driving value creation through data‑driven decision‑making.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications preferred: ACCA (or equivalent), CPA, CFA.
• Minimum 10‑15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior/lead role.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or commodity‑based sectors is highly preferred.
