Job summary

Specialized Import and Trading LLC in Oman seeks a Community Engagement & Campaign Assistant to lead the BICAB campaign and engage with traditional livestock breeders in Dhofar. Based in Salalah, you will mobilize volunteers, organize workshops, and conduct field data collection under MEL and DCM frameworks.

You will conduct KAP surveys using Kobo Toolbox, FGDs, and field observations, documenting impacts while traveling to remote grazing areas on program motorcycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in community development, social work, agriculture, environmental studies, or a related field. Advanced degree is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of practical experience in grassroots campaigning, community mobilization, social work, or field surveying (e.g., interviewing/FGDs).
• Experience with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is a strong advantage.
• Experience in organizing and managing technical training and workshops is a strong advantage.
• Native-level fluency in Arabic with strong Dhofari dialects; basic English required.

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support to local events and meetings with beneficiaries.
• Support the delivery of communications and community engagement to local communities, schools, and livestock owners in Dhofar.
• Serve as frontline field data collectors for MEL and DCM by conducting observations, interviews, and FGDs.
• Facilitate KAP surveys and direct interviews using mobile data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK).
• Promote sustainable rangeland practices and mobilize communities toward NbS benefits.
