Client of Aventus Global Talent is seeking a senior banker to lead the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) vertical in Oman. This role involves taking full ownership of the TMT sector, developing a sector strategy, and originating M&A and capital markets transactions. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years in investment banking with proven success in TMT transactions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience within investment banking (M&A and/or capital markets).
• Proven track record of originating and executing TMT transactions.
• Strong existing client relationships within the sector.
• Comfortable operating as a first mover / standalone sector lead.

We are working with a leading investment banking platform in the region on a newly created high‑impact TMT leadership hire. This is a true build‑and‑grow mandate offering the opportunity to take ownership of a developing sector vertical and play a key role in shaping its long‑term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) vertical
• Develop and execute a sector strategy identifying key opportunities and growth areas
• Originate and lead M&A advisory and capital markets transactions
• Build and maintain senior client relationships across corporates, government entities, and investors
• Leverage existing regional relationships to unlock near‑term deal opportunities (low‑hanging fruit)
• Work closely with senior leadership to position the platform as a go‑to advisor within TMT
• Operate as a self‑sufficient senior banker with the autonomy to build and grow a business line

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience within investment banking (M&A and/or capital markets)
• Proven track record of originating and executing TMT transactions
• Strong existing client relationships within the sector
• Entrepreneurial mindset, someone who can build a business, not just execute deals
• Comfortable operating as a first mover / standalone sector lead
• Strong commercial instinct and ability to generate revenue and pipeline
• Regional experience within the GCC is advantageous; international relationships are welcomed
