Job summary

Polymer Experts Oman seeks an Engineering Manager to oversee DBOT polymer injection facility projects for an Oman client. The role focuses on rigorous technical oversight of output from an EPC partner, ensuring integration with client production and utility infrastructure.

Based in Oman with travel to partner offices, client facilities and vendors as required; expatriate package, single status, and extensive interface management experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years' relevant experience, including 10+ years in engineering management and at least 3 years in oil and gas project engineering management.
• Minimum of three major oil and gas design projects.
• Oversight of EPC contractor's engineering output from client side—design review, TQ resolution and acceptance.
• Brownfield and interface/tie-in design oversight, including adopting existing 3D models, P&IDs, and tag data.
• Management of Change for interface deviations.
• Experience with 3D design systems and tagging: E3D/PDMS, SPI, AVEVA Diagrams, AutoCAD.
• Professionally registered or Chartered Engineer.
• Arabic language skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical authority over the EPC partner and ensure contract compliance.
• Review and validate the EPC partner's interface and tie-in engineering before construction.
• Chair technical review meetings with EPC partner leadership; manage TQ/RFI process.
• Ensure client 3D models and P&IDs are adopted and that a dependency matrix is applied when documents are modified.
• Manage any deviation through Management of Change and obtain approval by the relevant technical authority.
• Coordinate across process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical, control and automation, and telecoms; manage vendor design integration.
• Govern engineering data and tagging across E3D/PDMS, SPI, AVEVA Diagrams, AutoCAD to ensure consistency.
• Ensure formal assurance events (HAZOP, HAZID, Model Reviews, Design Reviews) run with client present and close actions on time.
• Carry lifecycle engineering responsibility through to As-Built documentation and meet KPI of <3% rejection.
• Own the engineering schedule within the Level 1-4 project schedule and drive recovery if the EPC partner slips.
