Job summary

Acwa China is seeking an Electrical Technician in Oman to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. You will work under the Electrical Supervisor to execute outage and overhaul activities, read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, and ensure safe isolation during repairs.

The role requires an Associate’s Diploma in Electrical with 3+ years of related experience, familiarity with PPE, and adherence to quality/OSH standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine, corrective and preventive maintenance of plant equipment under Electrical Supervisor.
• Reads electrical schematics and logic/control drawings to troubleshoot control circuits and PLCs.
• Carries out wiring, connects cables between machines, and replaces faulty wiring/components.
• Complies with safety and isolation procedures during repair work.
• Aligns, calibrates and maintains equipment according to specifications and records repairs/tests.
• Reports spare parts and consumables needs to his Forman to ensure availability.

Job Title Electrical Technician

Job location (Department/Plant) Maintenance

Reporting to Electrical Supervisor

Job Summary

Works under the direction of electrical Supervisor to execute all preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly /annual outage and overhauling work activities on plant equipments

Roles & Responsibilities

• 1 To performs routine, corrective and preventive maintenance of plant equipments as per the direction of Electrical Supervisor. Diagnoses cause of electrical malfunction or failure of operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches and control and monitoring devices and takes corrective measures in collaboration with Electrical Engineer / Supervisor.
• 2 To read electrical schematics and logic & control drawings and trouble shoot problems of control circuits and PLCs.
• 3 To carry out wiring work and connect cables and wires between machines and equipments. Also to replaces faulty wiring and electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motor bearings and position sensing devices.
• 4 To apply electrical craft, techniques, processes and principles and be responsible for all necessary preparation required to carry out electrical maintenance to equipments/area assigned to him.
• 5 To align, adjust and calibrate equipments according to specifications and to maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
• 6 To report to his Forman for spare parts and consumables in his area to update spares availability to cope up with the maintenance requirements.
• 7 To confirm all safety and proper isolation is carried out to repair the equipment under maintenance with coordination with his Forman and local operator.
• 8 To read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and system piping & instrumentation diagrams and apply the knowledge to carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• 9 To carry out any other duty assigned to him by the management from time to time.
• 10 Follow standard procedures.
• 11 Use proper PPEs and implement prescribed risk controls.
• 12 Report deviations in Quality, Health and safety management system.
• 13 Report emergencies and near misses.
• 14 Ensure proper waste disposal measures.
• 15 Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational Desired Associate’s Diploma(3 years DAE in Electrical )

Preferred

Minimum Experience (Type and duration) Minimum 3 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferable 5 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills

• Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
• Knowledge of Emission Monitoring
• Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment
• Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment

• Be able to execute the maintenance activities with high performance.

Work Condition

While performing the duties of this position, the employee normally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. In high precarious places he may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemicals risk and electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but very loud conditions do exist.
