Job summary

Mazoon Mining is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive end-to-end operations for a 2.5 Mtpa copper project in Oman. The COO will oversee Mine Operations, Processing Plant, Maintenance, and Process Engineering, guiding the organization from commissioning through sustained production.

Requirements include a mining engineering degree (or related), advanced business qualifications, and 15+ years in mining and mineral processing operations with a proven ramp-up track record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Operations, or Management are an advantage.
• Certifications: Statutory mine management certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and ramp-up of a 2.5 Mtpa copper project, transitioning from construction to operations.
• Direct mine, processing plant, maintenance, and process engineering to achieve throughput, recovery, and costs targets.
• Ensure HSE compliance, Oman regulatory requirements, and zero-harm safety practices.
