Jumeirah Jabal Omar is hiring a Commis 1 for the Staff Canteen. Join a luxury hotel in Makkah, supporting a high-end kitchen with diverse dining venues, and contributing to the delivery of culinary excellence across multiple dining concepts.

You will assist in food preparation, maintain high sanitation standards, and work under the supervision of senior chefs in a fast-paced environment reminiscent of a premier hospitality brand.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a range of kitchen areas, ideally in luxury hospitality.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsabilités

• Take orders from Chef de Partie and execute them following instructions.
• Gather, measure, mix, and prepare ingredients, sauces, and seasonings per recipes.
• Wash, peel, chop vegetables, fruits, and meats with precision and marinate as required.
• Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications.
• Document inventory, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock.
• Operate kitchen equipment (braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers) safely.

About the Job

An opportunity has arisen for Commis 1for Staff Canteento join Jumeirah Jabal Omar.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

Take orders from the Chef de Partie and execute them accurately following instructions and recommendations, ensuring tasks are completed as per daily requirements.

Gather, measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and specifications.

Wash, peel, chop vegetables, fruits, and meats with precision, demonstrating proficiency in cutting and seasoning meats and marinating as required.

Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.

Document inventory of kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock situations to maintain sufficient supplies.

Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct settings for cooking and baking temperatures.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

1 - 2 years of experience in a range of kitchen areas; ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.

College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
