Job summary

Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC is seeking a Banquet Manager to plan, coordinate and execute all banquet events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. You will lead the banquet team and collaborate with Events, Sales, Kitchen, Stewarding, Front Office and other hotel departments.

The role requires 3–5 years in banquet operations, supervisory experience in high-volume settings, strong leadership and English (Arabic a plus).

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in banquet operations in a four- or five-star hotel.
• Supervisory or management experience in high-volume banquet, events, or conference operations.
• Strong knowledge of banquet service, event setup, F&B operations, and conference/event requirements.
• Experience handling corporate events, weddings, conferences, and large-scale functions is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent guest-service orientation with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours.
• Good command of English; Arabic speaker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee the smooth execution of all banquet functions from setup through breakdown.
• Review banquet event orders and communicate requirements to relevant departments.
• Coordinate room layouts, seating, décor, AV, and F&B service for events.
• Conduct pre-event briefings and ensure staff understand service standards and responsibilities.
• Monitor events to ensure quality, timing, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain banquet areas at high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
• Lead and develop banquet supervisors, captains, servers, and casual staff.
• Prepare staffing schedules according to business levels and event requirements.
• Provide daily briefings and communicate hotel standards and updates.
• Monitor performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Ensure adherence to IHG and hotel service standards, grooming, and procedures.
• Maintain a visible presence during events and engage with clients and guests.
• Build strong relationships with event organizers and key clients.
• Anticipate guest needs and deliver personalized service for VIPs and special occasions.
• Resolve guest complaints professionally and ensure complete satisfaction.
• Support the hotel in achieving excellent guest satisfaction and positive feedback.
